School Tour to Lurgybrack Open Farm

We had a fabulous day out on our school trip to Lurgybrack Open Farm. We had lots of fun on the bouncy pillow and indoor bouncy castles. We went for a ride on the barrel train and really enjoyed the water slide. We saw lots of different farm animals. We played pool and air hockey. We also enjoyed the outdoor playgrounds and the indoor soft play areas.

Sports for All Day

We had a fabulous 'Sports for All' day at the end of May. We started off with a disco with DJ Conal followed by games on the field with Sylvester. After break we played dodgeball and did Tug o War with Brian, rugby with Ray and Zumba dancing with Barbara. Later on we walked to Pearse O Neill's for ice-cream and did hurling in Munday's field with John.

Abbey Arts Centre Trip

We recently visited the Abbey Arts Centre to watch a live 'Storytime' show.

Skip Around Europe Active Challenge

We have been taking part in a 'Skip Around Europe' challenge as part of our Active Schools programme.

Science Fun

We have really enjoyed all our different science experiments throughout the term.

Basketball and Gymnastics fun in PE

Recently in PE we have been doing gymnastics and basketball.

Something Fishy

We attended a very special fisheries presentation in the school hall. We got to find out all about fish native to Ireland, We looked at specimens, asked questions and even handled the fish.

GAA skills

We have enjoyed practising our GAA skills with Brian Roper every Wednesday throughout the second term.

Maths measuring

We really enjoyed learning all about length in Maths. We measured different lengths inside and outside the school using both non-standard and standard units of measurement.

Christmas Play

We had so much fun rehearsing and performing our Christmas Nativity play over the last few weeks. We really enjoyed performing the show in front of our parents and grandparents.

Cinema Trip

We had great fun on our trip to the cinema a few weeks ago. We watched 'The Magic Reindeer' and enjoyed popcorn and drinks

Santa Visit

We were very excited when Santa Claus came to visit our school a couple of weeks ago. We asked him lots of questions and he gave each of us a Christmas annual which we have been enjoying using in class over the last few weeks.

Christmas Art

We have really enjoyed doing Christmas Art in class over the last few weeks. We have made our own Christmas tree and decorated it with baubles, drawn 'Elves on the Shelf' and designed Christmas stockings.

Hurling coaching

We enjoyed a hurling coaching session on the school field with Eoghan O Neill, John Mc Cadden and transition year students from Coláiste Colmcille. We learned how to hold the hurl correctly and practised striking, catching and balancing skills.

Autumn Walk

We enjoyed going for a walk around Mundy's field to identify signs of Autumn in our environment.

iPads

We have really enjoyed using the iPads. In recent weeks we have been using the 'Geoboards' and 'Shape Patterns' apps to help with our understanding of 2D shapes in Maths.
