Lá Glas/Seachtain na Gaeilge
We really enjoyed celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge and Lá Glas. Congratulation to Charlie, Emily, Sean, Grace and Sadhbh who were our Gaeilgeoirí an Lae. We learned a number of Irish songs throughout the week including 'Amhrán na bhFiann'. We had fun designing posters based on Irish seanfhocail and we learned the dance 'An Dreoilín'.
World Book Day
We really enjoyed World Book Day celebrations at school. We spent time reading a variety of picture books and talked about our favourite books. We visited the hall for story-time with Mrs Lewis.
Games time
We have enjoyed playing logic games and puzzles over the last few weeks including Swipe Out, Cornered, Square Up and Shaperize. We also learned how to play Draughts.
Indoor hurling
We have been practising our hurling skills in PE using mini hurls and tennis balls. We practised carrying and balancing, throwing, catching and striking skills.
Fisheries Demonstration
We recently had a visit from Inland Fisheries Ireland where we learned all about the different species living in our inland waterways. We were able to examine some of the insects under a microscope and got to hold some of the fish.
Christmas Performance
We had great fun rehearsing and performing our Christmas nativity play over the last number of weeks. Thanks to all the parents and grandparents who attended our performance. We hope you enjoyed the show.
Christmas Fun
We really enjoyed the final day of term before the Christmas holidays. We all wore Christmas jumpers, sang Christmas songs and enjoyed playing with toys and games.
Christmas Cinema Trip
We really enjoyed our recent trip to Bundoran cinema to watch Zootropolis.
Goal Mile Challenge
We really enjoyed participating in the Goal Mile challenge. Not only did we raise money for charity but we also improved our fitness levels while doing so!
Hurling skills with Brian
We really enjoyed practising our hurling skills with Brian Roper over the last few weeks. We practised the jab lift, the roll lift and striking the sliotar.
Book Fair Fun
We loved visiting the book fair which was held in school recently and are enjoying reading all the new books we purchased!
Skipping Around the World Challenge
We really enjoyed our skipping around the World challenge as part of our Active Schools programme. So far we have skipped as far as The North Pole, The Sahara Desert and Mount Everest.
Painting Fun
We have had lots of fun painting in Art throughout the first half term and experimented loads with colour mixing
Maths Fun
We have had lots of fun in Maths working with concrete materials such as unifix cubes, ten frames, counters, dice and playing cards
Abbey Centre Trip
We had great fun on our recent trip to the Abbey Centre to watch 'Dogman' as part of the Wainfest festival
Climbing Wall
We made the most of the good weather at the end of September by getting out side for extra movement breaks.
