Summer Term in Rock Hub 2
Our summer term has been filled with lots of activities and outings. We really enjoyed our Liquid Therapy sessions as Rossnowlagh - we were very lucky with the weather and loved the sensory experience of being in the water. We have also been attending swimming lessons this term. Everyone has developed confidence being in the water and everyone has made great progress with their swimming.
In class, we have been learning all about sea creatures and being at the seaside. We’ve been singing sea songs and creating lovely sea art based on the story, ‘The Rainbow Fish.’ Some members of our class received the sacrament of Communion and had a great day a few weeks ago. We really enjoyed the ‘Sport of All’ day in school and engaged in lots of fun activities throughout the day. It was great to try out new sports! We have also enjoyed our school trips with our classes and are already looking forward to next year’s school tours!
I hope everyone has a lovely summer!

This term, we have been very busy learning and growing together, especially in the areas of social interaction, communication, and motor skills. It has been wonderful to see the children enjoying sensory play, particularly with jelly and kinetic sand—there were so many smiles and moments of curiosity.
In communication, we have been focusing on expressing our needs, and it has been lovely to watch the children grow in confidence as they use their voices. In science, we explored all things spring and had great fun learning about the life cycle of the dandelion.
We also spent time learning about positive social interactions and what it means to be kind. Through social stories and role play, the children have been developing these important skills in such a thoughtful and engaging way.
Creativity has been a big part of our term too. The children explored a variety of art activities, including finger painting, cubism, spring collages, and sketching, producing some fantastic work along the way.
In music, we had a wonderful time playing the boomwhackers—these were a big hit, and the children really enjoyed learning new songs each week.
It has truly been a happy and productive term. I am so proud of all the children for their tremendous effort, enthusiasm, and positivity in everything they do.
