This term the students have been busy working on their communication, listening to sensory stories and sequencing the stories. In Maths they have using Numicon for their number work, learning about shape, data and money and using technology in their learning. For Science week we looked at rockets and made our own rocket. We also looked at liquids that mix and do not mix and made a lava lamp. We have been learning about feelings and for anti-bullying week we explored what 'belonging' means and what makes a good friend. In art we made some animals from the story Handa's Surprise and we used printing to make Christmas trees. We also made our own Christmas tree decorations using salt dough. The children have been busy listening to and singing Christmas songs and preparing for Christmas plays. Well done to the students on all of their hard work this term!
Welcome to the Rock Hub 2. The children have busy working on their fine and gross motor skills. We took park in weekly swimming classes and participated in Liquid Therapy at Rossknowlagh beach where we got to build our water confidence, safety and surfing skills. We have been learning to play new games together. The class have been working on 'Number' in maths and working hard at independent tasks. We have been practising regulation strategies such as belly breathing and rainbow breathing or the body scanner which the children enjoyed. For maths week we looked for and solved 'principal puzzles'. The children have enjoyed circle time, listening to stories, choosing books to read and sensory play. Well done to all of the students on a great first term!
