All of the children have worked extremely hard over the last two months. We have had a very exciting lead up to the holidays over the last couple of weeks and have been engaging in lots of Christmas themed activities. Take a look at some of our literacy, numeracy and emotional regulation work below.

Math activities
In- class Support- Junior Infants, 2nd and 3rd class Nov. - Dec. 24
Junior infants have been enjoying station based in class support for literacy on a daily basis. We have been working on our phonological awareness skills, identifying the initial sounds of words, counting syllables and alliteration. We have also started learning our sounds and have started to blend CVC words. We are very proud of the progress that they are making!
2nd and 3rd class have been receiving in class math support twice a week. Take a look at the symmetry work that 3rd class completed below.
Emotional regulation and well-being
Some of the children have been working on identifying different feelings and emotions and identifying ways that we can regulate when we are experiencing different emotions. We have been reading lots of different picture books that explore different emotions and have also enjoyed our trips to the sensory room.
September/ October
We had a very busy and exciting start to the school year with lots of team teaching across the school.
Junior infants have been working hard on their phonological awareness skills (rhyming & identifying matching initial sounds) and fine motor skills.
We had literacy stations in senior infants where the children were working on their phonics, letter formation, tricky words and listening skills. Second class engaged in Literacy Lift Off for 6 weeks and also took part in Math's Power Hour where they practised their mathematical skills in an active and engaging manner.
3rd class took part in a S.W.S.T. spelling intervention and started math stations in the middle of October.
4th and 5th class also took part in Math's Power Hour and we made the most of the good weather by engaging in math outdoors.
My literacy and numeracy groups from senior infants, 2nd and 3rd have got off to a great start this year. We have been practicing our skills in fun and engaging ways. Take a look at what we have been up to over the last month.
