Welcome to 4th & 5th Class
Wow we have reached the final school term. Time Fly's when your having fun!!! Below you will find some of the highlights from last term. From planning 22nd birthday parties, using smarties to figure out fractions and budgeting for Ms Currans honeymoon in maths. to experimenting with the centre of gravity and studying lifecycles in Science, We compiled projects on the famine and 1916 rising in History. And oh boy!!! did we celebrate this term. We had damhsa, dánta agus amhráin for Séachtain Na Gaeilge, We delivered Nuacht an lae under the guidance of Mr Sweeny's class and enjoyed a ceíli in honour of Lá glas and St Patricks Day, not to mention the Easter bunny popping by and leaving lots of treats. We brought the story of Fionn Mac Cumhaill to life on a trip to the library, enjoyed two ice-cream parties and ran all around Europe we even found time to frequent the local park. The Holy Family 'Rock's'!!!!!

Beannachtaí na Nollaig daoibh. As Christmas rolls around I would like to take the opportunity to thank both students and parents for their continued commitment and support throughout 2023 and wish you all a happy, safe well deserved break. I look forward to seeing you all in the new year.
Term two has been another busy term. Children took part in GAA training with Brian Roper, had trips to the Abbey Centre and Bundoran cinema alongside engaging in lots of active Math's. We played guess who in Irish. Began Ukulele, Studied the Great Irish Famine and practiced for our Christmas performance. PHEW!!!!!

This term in math's we practiced dividing (sharing equally) using cubes, Made angles using our bodies lollipop sticks and measured them using protractors
Trips to the Abbey Center to meet and talk with a published author and get into the festive spirit with a Christmas show!!!

We had a very busy and successful first term!! We had trips to the park, a trip to the cinema, we experimented with static electricity and looked at chemical changes (Magic Milk) in science, we had a visit from fidget feet and learned some circus skills, completed athletics in PE alongside a host of other activities. What a great bunch!!! well done everybody!!
Maths week was filled with fun and treats. We had the principals puzzle each morning and teachers puzzle each night. In class we completed a maths trail around the school and made our very own tangrams, solving a few in class and making our own at home!
SESE
In SESE we learned all about China its history and provinces we looked at how ancient China has influenced modern day life and the traditions and inventions that had a big impact on history, inventions we still see and use today ,
We learned about the Stone Age. We studied how the hunter gathers lived what they wore, ate and where they originated
In Geography we studied the natural work and sharks!
