ASW 2021
MINDFUL MONDAY -We kick started our Active School Week with Yoga on Monday with Catherine Mc Gagh.
It was our first time having a yoga coach in and the children really enjoyed it. Catherine demonstrated how to do various poses such as the "Mountain Pose," "Cat/Cow," and "Elephant Ears," using different levels. We chose yoga as Mindfulness is becoming hugely important with young people today. |

TRY-IT-TUESDAY On Tuesday, we had Emer O' Mahoney in for a range of fun activities with the children. Emer (who is also a parent to a student in our school) teaches P.E. in the AVS in Donegal town and she had loads of fantastic ideas!
The junior classes played games and did simple gymnastics and balancing activities, while the senior classes participated in co.operative games such as Tug o' War and Pass the Hula Hoop. They also made letters and shapes with their bodies. The children really enjoyed trying out new games! |

FUN FRIDAY! (14/06/19)
On Friday, the junior classes were treated to some fun games in the hall, led by Sylvester Maguire. Some of the games included: Ball Tag, Stuck in the Mud, Cone Relays and Squirrel's Nest.
The senior classes had their active school tours today with second to fourth classes heading down to Sligo to take part in a range of fun activities using inflatable equipment in Just 4 Fun. In addition to having a fun day out, two euro from every child's fee went towards Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin.
Fifth and sixth classes went to Corralea Activity Centre in Enniskillen where they participated in four outdoor activities. The children did two wet activities in the morning (canoeing and using the waterpark) and two dry activities in the afternoon (whereby they could choose from: archery, climbing, orienteering and mountain biking). Everyone had a fantastic day and it was a great way to end our Active School Week!
