Fáilte go Rang 5/6
It’s been another very busy term for 5/6th class and we are all very ready for our Summer break! The children finished their bike safety course and everyone got a certificate for participating. They also completed their 8 weeks of Swimming lessons with many children making lots of great progress. They played the school league final and everyone in the class showed great sportsmanship both on and off the pitch - despite all the injuries! The children not participating in the school league filmed interviews with some of the players and put these into a news report. We also went to Letterkenny Activity Centre on our school tour. Everyone enjoyed a day of archery, footy golf and climbing the high ropes and zip lining. We spent another day in Letterkenny at An Grianán Theatre performing ‘Somewhere over the Rainbow’ and ‘Riptide’ on the big stage. Everyone had a great day and it was fantastic to see so many schools participating in the Ukulele programme.
6th class have also been very busy managing our Siopa na Scoile. They have been putting in orders, budgeting, selling and counting profits. Thank you very much to everyone in the school who bought from our Siopa and the profits helped to pay for a trip to Belfast to see Spongebob the Musical. 6th class also received the Sacrament of Confirmation back in May and a great day was had by all.
We all had a fantastic week participating in lots of activities as part of Active Schools Week. Yoga, Zumba, Water safety talks, old style sports day and a Skipathon were all the highlights. Our week ended with Sports Day on Friday that children thoroughly enjoyed - especially the ice cream that was very welcomed in this weather!
On Wednesday, 6th class will complete the school year with their Graduation ceremony. What a lovely way to celebrate 8 great years in the school and we will be very sad to say goodbye to a great bunch of children in 6th class. Ádh mór oraibh Rang 6 2023!
