Term 1- S.E.T. My junior maths groups and math's recovery pupils have been very busy this term. They have been working on forward and backward number word sequences and counting collections that are screened/un-screened. We also had lots of fun for maths week. From smartie maths to estimating how many pom poms were in the jar. My senior pupils have been practicing their times tables using Numicon and lots of enjoyable games.
My EAL group has been learning lots of vocabulary relating to themselves and their school environment. Recently we went on a hunt
to find lots of different rooms/areas in our school and outside. We now know the names of all of the important rooms/areas in our
Some of my pupils have been learning how to type. They have all really enjoyed engaging with a programme called Keyboarding
Without Tears. They have been working really hard at keeping their fingers on the correct keys.
2nd class have been busy engaging in Literacy Lift Off this term. This is station based learning and the children have been reading un-
familiar books, familiar books and practicing their writing skills every day. The children have been working hard on their decoding,
fluency, comprehension and expression when reading! Their enthusiasm to read every day was a joy to watch.
