The Amber Flag
|
The Amber Flag Team 2019/2020 was comprised of six students from 5th and 6th Class. They did an amazing job of helping to apply for our first Amber Flag which aims to promote Positive Mental Health in our school. These students carried out an audit of of the activities and services in the school that promote an ethos of Positive Mental Health. They also recorded suggestions made by the students as to how the school could improve on these and then presented this information via Powerpoint to each class.
Third Class participated in the ‘Friends For Life’ programme which is a Positive Mental Health initiative designed to develop coping skills and build resilience. |
During ‘Well-being Week’ , the school hosted a Mindfulness and Yoga day where all students were given the opportunity to take part in a range of Positive Mental Health activities (the proceeds of this event went to Pieta House). The Amber Flag Team also held a colouring competition for Junior Infants to 2nd Class and a poster competition for 3rd Class to 6th Class entitled ‘What Makes Me Happy’. The names of the competition winners are announced below and there will be prizes for the winners when we return to school.
