Cycling in Holy Family NS
We are delighted to see so many pupils who are now cycling to school and are very grateful to our Parents Association who organised our new bike stands for outside the school. We are already packing the stands and had 22 cyclists travelling to school by bike on October 14th.
Our number one priority when it comes to our pupils cycling is safety.
Our number one priority when it comes to our pupils cycling is safety.
- Please make sure that if your child is cycling that they wear a helmet and a hi-vis jacket.
- Please ensure that they are familiar with the cycle route to and from school and alert to potential risks along the route.
- Please accompany them on their cycles until such time as they are ready to make their journey independently.
- Please ensure that they know and adhere to the rules of the road.
- Please remind them regularly about the potential risks and urge caution so that they are safe on the road and enjoy cycling.
We celebrated National Bike Week a week early because of the good weather this week and did a 14 km cycle out the Knather. Many thanks to all parents for preparing the pupils for this cycle and especially to those who accompanied us on the day and made sure that our safety standards were adhered to. Great day had by all ! See our video below, coming down Castle St. |
